Purposes for collecting personal information
Baby Friendly Hospital Initiative Hong Kong Association (BFHIHKA) and any service provider engaged by BFHIHKA may use your contact information from time to time to issue receipts, conduct donor survey and to provide you with communications and fundraising materials to inform you of programmes, activities and appeals of BFHIHKA, Hong Kong Committee for UNICEF and UNICEF. All personal data will be kept confidential and handled in accordance with applicable laws. You will be asked to submit personal information about yourself (e.g. name and email address etc.) in order to receive information, use services on our websites or to carry out a particular action, for example:
- to receive an e-newsletter
- to take an online action
- to make a donation or purchase a product
- to enter a competition
- to apply for volunteering
- to issue receipts
- to conduct donor survey
By entering your details in the fields requested, BFHIHKA will be able to provide you with the services or carry out the action you select. Whenever you provide such personal information, we will treat that information in accordance with this statement. Our services are designed to give you the information that you want to receive. BFHIHKA will act in accordance with current legislation and aim to meet current internet best practice.

Cookies

Under the Hong Kong Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance, you have the rights to request access to and request correction with respect to personal data. Children’s information
BFHIHKA is careful in any communications with children. On our Web site, we offer many features, like interactive games, educational activities and links to global conferences which do not require a child to provide any personal information. If a child signs in to request certain information, generally we collect only limited personal information from children (like their email addresses) to respond to their online requests. We will not use the information collected except for the purposes for which the information was supplied or to contact or update the child about BFHIHKA campaigns and other educational information. Information of children gathered is not shared with or traded to other like-minded charities. We urge parents to regularly monitor and supervise their children’s on-line activities.
Security
No data transmission over the internet can be guaranteed to be 100% secure. As a result, while we strive to protect your personal information, BFHIHKA cannot ensure or warrant the security of any information you transmit to us, and you do so at your own risk. Once we receive your transmission, we make our best effort to try to ensure its security both on our systems and while in transit between our systems and the companies who provide us with various services (see section on ‘How is your information used?’).
